Blizzard is making so pretty interesting changes to the shadow priest. Haste is becoming OMG useful!
Haste will now effect our DoTs while in shadowform. This means that if you cast SW:Pain instead of it ticking X times for the normal duration. It now ticks for the same number of times for a shorter duration (dependent on how much haste you have).
What this means is that we no longer gem pure red in almost everything. Our primary gem will be the Relentless Ametrine for all Red and Yellow sockets. We'll still put 2 Purified Dreadstone in to activate the meta but all other blue sockets will be Relentless Ametrine.
Another thing that is being talked about on shadowpriest.com is dropping MB from our rotation. There has been a lot of theorycrafting and testing done by some very amazing priests.
The results: In T9 or T10 MB gives a boost to dps but in T10 it's a minimal boost and if you want to drop it go for it.
My choice will probably be to drop the IMB talent and only cast MB when it comes off the 10 sec CD. This way I can still keep replenishment going but can get a lot more DoTs and MFs in during that time. _________________ Shiann: 80 Undead Shadow Priest |

Awww shoot. I was hoping the changes could come without me having to think too much about my talents. Dropping MB or just IMB is all well and good (the only time I ever really want to cast is is when Inner Focus is off cd), but I'm not sure what I would do with 5 talent points. I'm already thinking about dropping Shadow Focus.
Maybe 3.3 will see me finally getting rid of the MASSIVE amount of hit gear I have on me. And then I can keep Shadow Focus. And try spending IMB on other fun stuff. Like the Disc tree.
I really wish Focused Power was higher up in Disc. But then, maybe giving Shadow Priests a quick Mass Dispel would be just asking for trouble.

Well you won't want to drop MB or IMB until you have 2T10 so I wouldn't worry about it and even then keeping it in is still a dps boost just not as significant a dps boost as before.

SW:P has been removed from the haste benefit. Haste now only effects VT and DP; should still be a significant dps increase for us. _________________ Shiann: 80 Undead Shadow Priest |

Hi fellow Priest!
I too like the changes they have made with regard to haste and increase to dps. However, on single target (mainly bosses) my dps has a significant drop off. I've done some research out there and have not been able to get much information on this at all.
Anyone have some suggestions that might help me bridge this gap? |
